Ok so i get a lot of questions about the different oils i use for my hair care, and what are each oils designed for or what i use them for.
The use of hair oils provides hair nutrients to the sebaceous glands and promotes hair growth. I will quickly mention some of the hair oils, which have all been found to be helpful in the maintenance and conditioning of hair:
Jojoba oil : This is very good as a scalp moisturizer which helps rebalance the sebum, resulting to a healthier and better hair texture. It does an amazing job of oil deep cleansing heavy build that build up around the root and cause a lot of hair growth problems including slow hair growth and even thinning.
My opinion : I really don’t like the smell of this oil, can’t get over it ! Greasy, stands on my hair, blarrgh ! I heard sooo many good stuff that i had to mention it here though…
Note : 1/5
Argan oil : is also called Moroccan oil. The best moisturizing oil for your hair and scalp and it is light! It is loaded with omega 3′s and has been the oil of queens as many of the royal families swear by the power of this oil for healthy scalp and hair. It cuts down drying time by over 30% meaning less exposure to heat and of course less damage.

Ok now basically, (lol, i love starting by this ‘basically’) hair is made up of Keratin a kind of protein. When hair is submit to any chemical service or is damaged by misuse of heat tools, protein is lost = hence the hair loses some of its elasticity or strength.
You can improve the hair’s elasticity and strength properties by using products that contain protein in them.
Curly and kinky hair tends to be dry and quite fragile even in its natural state. With the addition of relaxers or colour services, the hair will to become even weaker. Using a protein based conditioner improves the health of the hair immensely and should be applied to any regimen.
You can find various forms of protein used in the hair product it can perform a variety of functions. Here are some examples:
Hydrolyzed Human Hair Keratin – The most potent of the proteins and matches the keratin in hair exactly. It keeps the hair pliable and strong.

Cla…what? CLA-RI-FY your hair ! ! lol
Basically (as you noticed these posts all start by basically, lol, just browsing the basics) clarifying is removing the build up in your hair.
Most clarifying shampoo products contain acetic acid. A chemical compound, though mild as far as acid goes, is known for its de-scaling abilities. Acetic acid is found in vinegar, which everyone knows is good for removing scale buildup in coffee pots, tea kettles, and other household objects. Similarly, the acetic acid found in clarifying shampoo aids in removing buildup found on hair.
Clarifying shampoo is not known for its conditioning abilities. In fact, while clarifying shampoo is great for aiding in the removal of unwanted buildup of oil, styling products, and other grime, it can dry the hair out if over used. Most hair boards recommend cleansing oily hair with a clarifying shampoo once a month.
A product does not necessarily have to be labeled as a clarifying shampoo for it to do the trick. Check the ingredient label on the back of any shampoo for the presence and location of acetic acid.
The technique :
You may want to clarify your hair prior to certain chemical services, or just to get rid of the build-up left by daily moisturizing sessions, frequent co-washes or oiling scalp weekly etc…. Read more »
