IMG_8674My daughter is natural. Last year after doing a lot of researches on why her hair was always dry despite all the moisture i would bring to it, i decided to get rid of all the parabens in her hair stuff. Next year i will try to find sulfate free products only. I keep it one step at the time, i learn as i go in her hair care too.

Here is her current hair regimen / routine (2012)

Part One. PRODUCTS

Shampoos, conditionners and oils

DSCF4476 DSCF4477I use a lot,  A LOT of conditionners for her hair, specially during spring/summer to co-wash her hair. And as she has a big head of hair, i need to use huge dollops of product to make sure the whole head is coated. I only detangle when her hair is wet fully coated with conditionner. The only shampoo i have been using on her hair for the past year is the Elasta QP creme conditionning shampoo, review is here.

Some of her co-wash conditionners : Herbal essence, Alberto VO5, Alberto balsam, Curly Q’s coconut conditionner

Deep conditionners : Shea moisture deep treatment masque, Organics Olive oil deep

Oils : Coconut, Almond & Olive oil

Moisturizers, leave-ins and styling products : DSCF4480

From left to right : Homemade flaxseed gel, homemade spritz (recipe is here), Curls Unleashed leave-in conditionner, Herbal essence LTR.

(NOT SHOWN : Giovanni Smooth as silk leave-in. Her hair favorite)

White tray : MissJessies curly pudding, KTC coconut oil, homemade shea butter (recipe is here), ORS girls hair pudding, hair scrunchies.

Black tray : Back ups only ! (H.E LTR, Neutrogena Triple Moisture Leave-in Silk Touch Creme, ORS girls Olive oil moisturizer)

If i have to deep condition (i do it 1 to 2x month in summer, 1x month in winter)

– Deep condition. Leave it on for 35″ to 1h30″

– Get in the shower, thoroughly rinse the hair,

– Shampoo.

– Apply a cheapie conditionner. Detangle.

– Rinse. Squeeze the excess of water.

– Apply the leave-ins. Put on a towel and get her out. She keeps the towel ON for about 15-20mns (if it is too damp i change the towel)
